The Porcupine Warriors on Sunday edged out AK Shion 4-1 on penalties
at the Coronation Park, Sunyani, to advance to the next stage of the FA Cup.
In what was a difficult game for the fabulous lads, Frank Sarfo Gyamfi, returning from injury, grabbed the opener for Kotoko in the 34th minute. Francis Osei Asibey with 16 minutes to regulation time, however cancelled Kotoko’s solitary lead thus sending the match to penalty shootouts.
Osei Agyeman, Evans Quao, Obed Owusu and Kwame Boateng all converted neatly for Kotoko in the shootouts. As good as that was, goalkeeper Ofori Antwi’s splendid efforts further cemented Kotoko’s quest for triumph.
The national goalie saved two of AK Shion’s kicks to deflate their over-bloated ego therefore giving Kotoko the ticket to the round of 34 stage.
