Asante Kotoko Supporters group (CIRCLES) headed by Mr. Kwaku Amponsah popularly known as Chairman K-5 have sent a letter of complaint dated Tuesday, March 21, 2017 to Ghana Football Associations and the Referees Appointment Committee together with a Press Statement to “ban” Samuel Suker from officiating games involving Asante Kotoko after awarding their opponent a doubtful penalty that led to their shocking 1-0 defeat at the Ohene Djan Stadium last Sunday.
The controversial penalty poped in by Samuel Suker during the second half of the game had rocked Asante Kotoko and their supporters.
The Statement Reads:
Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
BAN REFEREE SAMUEL SUKAH FROM OFFICIATING OUR MATCHES
The general supporting- body of Asante Kotoko S.C, led by the National Circles Council by this public release wish to draw the attention of the apex football management body in the country- Ghana Football Association(GFA) with the Referees Appointment Committee inclusive to an all important petition.
In this issue of our press release, we firmly declare our detestation to the appointment of the above named referee to officiate our matches, both during our home and away matches.
His glaringly unfair officiating of our 8th week encounter with Accra Hearts of Oak S.C smacks a highest level of unprofessionalism as his general output significantly affected the outcome of the game, as a result igniting the displeasure of our supporters. A very disturbing impact!
Due to the outcry of the generality of our supporters across the length and breadth of the country, it is therefore admittedly advisable for the two main bodies in charge of management and officiating of football matches to put any of his appointments, regards to our matches on permanent hold.
It remains our fervent hope that, this petition shall be assented to, to avert any unforeseen happening.
Mr. Kwaku Amponsah
