Asante Kotoko on Sunday, dropped two valuable points at home after failing to record a goal for the first time this season at home with their new look three-man defence which had conceded just 3 goals in 9 games.
Since Asante Kotoko began playing that (3-4-3 or 3-5-2) formation they have lost just a game in this campaign. The defeat came after referee Suker Samuel awarded the opponent ‘dubious’ penalty, that nobody will really mind again.
Asante Kotoko will be hoping for the three (3) maximum points against depleted Medeama side today.
Prince Owusu is the only coach who have figured out how to hold Kotoko from scoring at home this season and the next to try is Evans Adotey who leads Medeama to face the Porcupines this afternoon at the T&A Park.
Asante Kotoko are notorious for not adjusting their tactics to their opponents but Lugarusic must do so for this match. Lugarusic has been guilty in past match of putting a team out and hoping for the best – as we have seen all too often, it doesn’t work enough of the time.
Luga’s team will be far more up for the challenge of Medeama than they were in the dismal in that 0-0 draw to Inter Allies.
Asante Kotoko were much better earlier in the season with Kwame Boahen in the team to set the tempo and start attacking moves.
Kwame Boahen made the trip to Tarkwa to face his former club this afternoon. His inclusion or starting the game should give Kotoko the missing force in attack to break the Yellow and Mauve defence wall.
